New Pics of Khloe' Bear

Ok guys here are some new pics we have taken over the last 3 weeks. We have some of Khloe peeking into her toy bin after I added some recently found treasures (hand me down toys from her cousin Cole) She LOVES when she finds a new toy. Sorry not all the pictures are great clarity we are still trying to figure out how to use our camera on our little peanut when she is constantly in motion now.
I have added some pics of her eating mac-n-cheese for the first time.....huge hit with Khloe', she was covered from forehead to chin in cheese it was the cutest thing to watch her eat!
We have been practicing "giving kisses" and she has almost mastered this along with the "Hi-5's". I picked her up from school on Monday and her favorite teacher Reni told me how she loves the fact that Khloe' is giving kisses to everyone....I thought that was so funny to hear that what we have been practicing at home she is trying at school on the other kids and little babies...too cute if only I could be a fly on the wall and see those moments! I am so proud of her and all her developmental steps. At school we have started to let her try some of the foods the day care provides: Fruit and whole grain muffins, cereal and fruit bars, cheerios, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetable soup, peaches, pears, graham crackers, chicken nuggets & of course her favorite Mac-n-cheese.....she has done SOOOOO well at trying and liking all the new foods! Her teachers are very impressed and proud of her too!

About to give daddy a kiss on demand...it's still pretty much an open mouth kiss from her, but the best kiss I have ever gotten from such a sweet peanut! After she kisses you she smiles and claps at herself! ADORABLE!

BTW, how cute is this little outfit? Polk-a-dot capris with a cinched side and a bow, and that 70's head band, I LOVE IT!

Ok, this is really cute story. We have been dog sitting for our friends (Fred & Carmen) and Khloe' LOVES Ogie. Every chance she gets she tries to crawl on him or jump on his side as if he is a big stuffed animal. I tried to capture the scene picture by picture....

These are the mac-n-cheese pics I mentioned above....absolutely priceless!

Khloe is 10 Months old now!!!

Hi everyone! I can’t believe how time flies….It’s amazing how little time you have for free stuff like updating our family blog when you have a very active 10 month old crawling at what seems to me as “super speed” . It’s funny to read back over my first few blogs and see how I thought I had no time for anything at least then you could just put her somewhere and walk away to grab something or do something real quick and you knew she would be there when you came back, now she is steady right behind you following you to the kitchen or to the bathroom. She laughs as if it’s a game when she is chasing after us. I have noticed in the last couple of weeks the outside of her writs and top of hands are red every night, it just dawned on me that she has rug burns or mat burns from how she is dragging her self with her wrists and hands…LOL poor baby! Everyday this love of our lives amazes, entertains, and pulls at our heart strings. Well, as some of you know she is now pulling up on anything she can, one day at daycare this past week she stood up in her crib and smiled so big at her teachers as if to say “hey look at me, I did it” They were all so happy and excited to see this ( I wish I was there) She definitely knows what she likes and dislikes and let’s us all know…she shakes her head fast from side to side when she is done eating or she tries to hit the bottle away from her mouth when she doesn’t want it or needs to burp. She wants to be down playing as much as possible, no more tiny baby who is content to sit in your lap unless she’s really tired then she is a wonderful snuggle bug! We have taught her to give Hi-Five and she has perfected the Bye-Bye’s, I’m working on teaching her to give kisses…so far she will only lean forward towards me and her daddy and open her mouth when we get close to her moth ( so sweet!).

Khloe’s 1^st Valentine’s was very sweet. Paul brought us both home some flowers, we each got a card and he got her a really sweet hot pink “hot-dog” looking stuffed animal with hearts all over….this is her FAVORITE thing now! She is so funny when she’s tired she has one hand tightly squeezed around the tail and the other little hand on one of his ears. She rubs the ear or the tail on her nose or under her nose as she is trying to fall asleep. She drags this sweet puppy everywhere with her! Of course daddy is so proud that she loves his gift so much! When daddy walks in the door from work she starts saying “dada dadada” and lights up and waves closed fisted until he comes and gives us a kiss!! TOO PRECIOUS! (Paul has been working on MA-MA-MA with her too, she is getting that one down but not as good as the “dadada’s, I tell myself it’s easier for her to say dada then mamama)

We had a couple of old family friends of Paul’s in Atlanta last month here for their art exhibit opening at Spellman College (Ingrid and Robert. They are such an amazing couple to be around, I’m so glad we got to spend a few days with them!) We went to their opening and Khloe’ was such a perfect angel (of course) She practically stole the show. We had her in a dress and some new white tights! We were there for a few hours and she was so content to look at all the people and start her chattering, everyone was smiling and oohing at her, I was afraid she was stealing the spotlight from our friends live exhibit. I am so proud of her and how she behaves in public…she is such a great girl! (“God, can our next one be just as perfect as her, PLEASE?”)

This past month has also been such a learning experience for us as new parents. Let’s see, where do I begin? We had 1 ER trip which turned out to Roseola (High fevers for 5 days followed by a full body rash), a case of the hives 2 days later ( not sure from what), now we are back to deep chunky coughing and beautiful green snotty nose (which she absolutely HATES when you wipe her nose), now we think she may be getting an ear infection since she has been pulling at her ears and waking up in the middle of the night crying and god forbid you clean her ears after bath, you would think we were killing her!! GEES….and did say we want more children??! Oh by the way she is also multi-teething, she has 2 more little teeth in the bottom (4 total now) and 2 teeth have broken thru on the top. I definitely want to Khloe’ to know the joys of sister/brotherhood but really how do parents handle more than 1 child….Maybe that phrase “it’s easier with the second must be true! Khloe' is now 9 months old!

I can't believe our little peanut is already 9 months old!! We took her for her 9 month appt. today and she only had to get 1 shot YEAH! She did really good in the Dr. Lori's office she of course was nothing but smiles and grins at everyone in the office. She is now weighing in at 20.13 lbs and a whopping 29 inches long ( that is almost 2 1/2 feet tall :)) . So she is now in 80th% for weight and height vs. before she was always 99th% for both.

She has started to do the funniest thing lately....when she does not get her way such as she doesn't want to drink her bottle or we don't pick her up when she wants us to she will drop her head very quickly to her chest, scrunch up her face, close her eyes and make sort of a grunting noise. Is this the beginning of a temper tantrum? I know I am supposed to discipline her but it is soooo funny I can't help but laugh at her. Oh I can just picture a few months from now the laying on the floor and kicking and screaming if she does not get her way!!! Oh lord it's just begun huh?

Also, now that she is "mobile" she has started to become very curious about everything, she wants to pull the Kleenex's from the box, crawl to the marble fireplace, grab Maxx's dog bones...whatever she sets her sights on. So, I am constantly saying " No Khloe' don't touch that, or No Khloe' don't pull those" She turns and looks at me ( I think she definitely knows what "NO" means) and smiles & laughs and keeps doing what she was doing. She just laughs at me when I use a stern voice!! OK, this must be what my Ma & dad have always warned me about..."coming back 10 fold" Right now it is cute and sweet but it won't be in a year or so!!

Major changes for our little peanut in the new year!

Hi Everybody,

Sorry it has been a while since we have updated the blog. It seems we have much less time on our hands to do this as we are tending to our little pumpkin!

So much has happened since the last time we updated the blog. Lets see... Khloe' had her first Christmas! She was so cute to watch! She of course didn't know what day it was but she just loved opening all her gifts! The wrapping paper was the highlight.. she quickly got the hang of how to rip open the gifts and crumple the wrapping paper up! lol! It seemed that the gift was purely secondary at that point! She almost got upset as we tried to show her her gifts and take the paper away.. lol.. She got so many wonderful gifts however the highlight gift was her DJ walker! She instantly loved it once she was in it, there were so many new buttons and sounds and alas... she could move around in this new toy!!! She's quickly figured out how to scoot around the kitchen although she has some difficulty on the carpet.. too cute.

Just as we came into the new year - I think the 3rd or 4th Khloe' learned how to wave and say bahbah at the same time. It's the cutest thing in the world. What's really funny is that she must have known this was a new thing she was doing, because she would wave backwards and look at her hand as if to say heeeyyy this is pretty neat! Now each time Julie or I come into the room or wake her up she does her little wave to us! Lol! I think we both get goose bumps when we see her do that!

On January the 9th officially marked the day that we couldn't just put her on her play mat or the bed and know that she is not going anywhere! She learned to crawl!!!! We were all in the living room and she was playing with her little jingle ball - the next thing we knew she pushed it away from herself and then started crawling after it!!! She did this for about 10 minutes and was just besides her self with joy... It's like she had a sense of relief and an expression of.. FINALLY I can move around! She hasn't quite figured out how to use both legs yet, but she just pulls herself along! It looks kinda like a wounded pup dragging her leg!! Now each day she has gotten a lot better at it and gets around more and more...
